Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation holds several scholarship funds. Scholarships are awarded at the end of the student's Senior year. Students apply through the Career Counsellor's office.
ECPSF Scholarship Fund
The ECPSF Scholarship Fund serves as a vehicle for donors to award scholarships to ECASD graduating seniors on an occasional or as-available basis. Scholarship awarded as funding is available. Monies must be received by ECPSF by December 31 for a scholarship to be awarded the following spring.
Brighter Futures Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this scholarship is to annually recognize a graduating senior student from ECASD who has experienced a homeless situation throughout their tenure in the district and is seeking post-secondary education.
Caravan Scholarship
The Caravan Scholarship was established by two donors in celebration of band participation with Memorial High School and the Eau Claire Area School District.
Accepted applicants must: have participated in band all four years of their studies at Memorial High School. They must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and be recommended by a non-family member. Selection will be based on the criteria stated in the description. If there is a tie in the rubric, the reviewers will rank order the applicants.
Charlie Carpenter Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Charlie Carpenter Memorial Scholarship provides scholarship funding for graduating Memorial High School seniors who have been active with tech ed during their high school studies. The fund is in memory of Charlie Carpenter, who taught technology education at Memorial High School for many years. The recipient is determined by Memorial High School's scholarship selection committee.
The Dan Walker Old Abe Scholarship Fund
The Dan Walker Old Abe Scholarship Fund supports the post-secondary education of graduating seniors at Memorial High School who have participated in at least one sport all four years, has maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA, and has been active in community service.
Eric Mosel Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Eric Mosel Memorial Scholarship was established by the Mosel Family in memory of Eric Donald Mosel, North High School Class of 1995 wrestling team captain. This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior member of the wrestling team who has exhibited Eric’s qualities of dedication, determination, humor, honesty, and integrity.
J. Murphy STEM Scholarship
The J. Murphy STEM Scholarship Fund was established in 2016 by an anonymous donor in honor of the donor’s mother’s teaching career with the Eau Claire Area School District, and in celebration of STEM education.
Applicants must: have the intent of majoring in a STEM program (science, technology, engineering or math). They must have a B average or higher, and be recommended by an MHS or NHS teacher. Selection will be based on the criteria stated in the description. If there is a tie in the rubric, the reviewers will rank order the applicants.
Jacob Scheible Memorial Scholarship
Accepted applicants must: have participated in golf during their studies at Memorial High School. Priority given to students illustrating leadership and community service. Annual $1,000 Memorial Scholarship in Jacob's memory by the Family Foundation.
Joanne Marie Sommer Scholarship
The Joanne Marie Sommer Scholarship was established by an ECASD family in memory of their mother and wife, in celebration of education and community service with North High School and the Eau Claire Area School District.
Accepted applicants must: have performed some community service in the Chippewa Valley during their studies at North High School. They must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Priority given to first generation students and/or students who have lost a parent. Selection will be based on the criteria stated in the description. If there is a tie in the rubric, the reviewers will rank order the applicants.
Ruth Girnau Scholarship Fund
The Ruth Girnau Scholarship Fund awards $250 per semester ($500 per year) for eight consecutive semesters to a North High School and a Memorial High School graduating senior pursuing post-secondary education. The scholarship is awarded based on greatest financial need and post-secondary readiness as determined by academic standing. Additional contributions will allow more scholarship money to go to ambitious students with great financial need.
Ross Proctor Music Scholarship Fund
The Ross Proctor Music Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Carson Ross Proctor. Ross grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and graduated from North High School in 1994. Ross’s family established the Ross Proctor Music Scholarship Fund in his memory to support students at North High School who share Ross’s passion and talent for music.
PESI/Mike Conner Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the PESI/Mike Conner Scholarship Fund is to support graduating students at Memorial High School further their post-secondary education in a business related field with a future vision that may include entrepreneurship.
